VALUE GUIDE

How to tell what your Pokémon card is worth.

A card’s name is only the starting point. The details determine whether you are looking at a fifty-cent card or something special.

Check the collector number

The number at the bottom of the card is usually the fastest way to find an exact match. Look for a format like 154/128. A card with the same Pokémon name can have many different printings.

Match the set and finish

Check the set name or symbol, then identify whether the card is regular, holofoil, reverse holofoil, promo, full art, or another variation. Those differences can change the price dramatically.

Use market prices, not wishful listings

Asking prices are just what someone hopes to receive. A market price is a stronger reference, but it still is not a guarantee. Condition, timing, and buyer demand all matter.

Use Collect Valor’s price checker to identify the card, then confirm the set, number, language, and finish before relying on the result.

Keep a record of the cards that matter

Save your card in your collection with a photo and its story. A market value is useful, but where a card came from can matter even more.
